About

Hello!!! I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but was raised in Queens, New York.  I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Interactive User Experience from the University at Albany, SUNY.  Other than playing lacrosse and playing video games, I enjoy designing anything and working with technology on my free time.

Throughout high school and college, I would always found myself asking questions to myself such as, why is the log out button so hard to find, or why is this button so small, or why is this page bringing me to this separate page.  I always interviewed myself on how easily I could use a product or an application.  In college, I would ask my friends if they enjoyed or could use an application easily.  Therefore, I thought why don’t I work with something that I enjoy doing.  This is where User Experience Design comes into play.

My favorite part of UX is design and testing.  My passion and interest are designing anything that is user centered.  I want to make products useful, usable and delightful.  One of the things that makes me qualified as a UX designer is that I understand the importance of providing the user with a solution to a defined problem.

My strength is relating to and understanding of human behavior and emotions, that will carry over into my designs.  For example, I always think of emotions the user would feel when using a specific interface.  Duller, dark colors and serif fonts usually evoke seriousness.  If you want a sense of joy or excitement then I would use san serif fonts and bright colors.

It should not only look nice, but look right too.  If the user experience is done right, it will establish a bond of trust and credibility between the product and the user.  In conclusion, my motto is, great UX designers think so that their users don’t have to.
